Travel Pouch, originally uploaded by jenib320.
It was a long weekend of packing and moving Michael out of his apartment. We are both exhausted! We were going to be making a trip up to Madison today to look at apartments, but decided Memorial Day probably wasn't the best day to drive that far, among other things. So we might go up next week instead.

In the meantime, I made myself a little travel pouch last night! I used up some scraps from the spiderweb blocks and made it double sided. I needed a little pouch this size and it came together really quickly. I tried a new zipper method, which I did not end up liking, but it's functional and that's what counts :)

Roadtrip Embroidery, originally uploaded by jenib320.
Started a fun new embroidery project last night! I will be embroidering each state and then marking the cities/states I've lived in. At this point that's just Ohio, but come August! ;) It will be weird living in another state. I like living the heart-shaped state of Ohio!

Thrifting, originally uploaded by jenib320.
Did a little holiday thrifting today. Didn't find tons, but did find these funky blue sheets and a purple one!

Vintage Platter, originally uploaded by jenib320.
Couldn't pass up this awesome retro platter! I have cups, bowls and saucers to match! Maybe I need to host a tea party? :)

Take Your Pick, originally uploaded by jenib320.
I have not forgotten about the Warm Cool Quilt Along, I swear! Things have been crazy and the dust finally seems to be settling, so I plan on starting it up sometime in the next two weeks. The question is, which pattern do you all want to sew up? Let me know in the comments! Your choices are. 1. Warm Cool Half-Square Triangles and 2. Warm Cool Trip Around the World.

It's here!, originally uploaded by jenib320.
I have been trying to be better about my fabric shopping, but I allowed myself to buy one new collection in full as a graduation gift to myself. To my own surprise I ended up going with Prince Charming. This is the first time I've been completely under the Tula Pink spell! Every time I saw photos of this line I fell in love a little more. I think it's the colors! They are so gorgeous together and really saturated! I cannot wait to play with these lovelies! :)

Today's Stitching, originally uploaded by jenib320.
I was pretty intimidated when I found out the June block for our circle in the do. Good Stitches Bee was spiderwebs. I had never done one before! I wanted to power through and get these out of the way. I'm still not sure how I feel about them. They weren't bad, but were a bit too fussy for my taste. It was all the measuring and marking! Someone should make preprinted squares/triangles for these blocks!! Either way, at least they turned out cute!

Finished Tote, originally uploaded by jenib320.
Finished up another Jane Market Tote. This one is for a family friend! I used this fun lime/pink vintage fabric I had in my stash and a little green shot cotton.

Vintage Fabrics, originally uploaded by jenib320.
Trying to clear out some more fabrics, mostly vintage quilting cottons. Some of them I simply have too much yardage of! If you're interested check out my destash shop here! :)

Lotus Bowl Collection, originally uploaded by jenib320.
On Monday, I sold a little under half my Pyrex collection on craigslist. Mostly pieces I wasn't attached to anymore, or patterns I had grown lukewarm about. It was really liberating to unload some of it. This should help make the move a little lighter! So, yesterday's goal was to go through my Lotus bowl collection. I did not realize I had so many!

George, originally uploaded by jenib320.
George!! He finally flopped over in his basket. I could barely contain myself, he looks so freaking cute in it!

Keep your eyes peeled, I'm planning a fun sale in the shop for the long holiday weekend, starting tomorrow! :)

Today I love the..
Smell of: Nothing, allergies!
Sound of: Jack Johnson
Taste of: Diet Coke
Sight of: George baby!
Feel of: Cool fan

Good Things about Today:
- Should be a nice day in, supposed to storm all day.
- Been waking up at 6:45am naturally, yay!
- My email inbox = 0!
- Feeling productive!!

Madras Picnic Quilt

Madras Picnic Quilt, originally uploaded by jenib320.
Have you seen all the awesome things Anna has been sewing up with madras?! She got me inspired to dig into my stash! I have been collecting them off and on since I first started sewing, so I had a healthy stash on hand.

I decided last night to make a simple picnic quilt with them, and voila! I was on a roll! It's not too big, 50"x45" but still, I was happy to get it finished up in under 24 hours! I've never finished a quilt that quick! I was originally going to just do simple squares, but I needed it to be a little bigger, so I added the "bricks". It was super easy to piece and took no time at all!

Madras Picnic Quilt, originally uploaded by jenib320.
For the backing I used a solid sheet I thrifted a few months ago. It's so nice when you don't have to piece a backing! I quilted it with turquoise thread, some of the free thread I picked up on Thursday! I also pieced together a few big batting scraps, so this really is quite a scrappy quilt!

I bound it with this yummy raspberry Pastry Line by Anna Maria Horner that I received in a fun swap with Jenna! :)

Madras Stash, originally uploaded by jenib320.
I think madras are so pretty and summery. I am really glad that I ended up turning mine into a quilt! It will be perfect for picnics this summer. It's super soft!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Thread!, originally uploaded by jenib320.
When I was taking out the garbage this afternoon, I noticed a BIG bag filled with thread next to the chute! Of course I had to take it with me! It was full of thread. Well over 100 spools. Mostly Coats & Clarks, and mostly on plastic spools so it can't be too old. I usually buy Gutterman, but I'm not about to turn away free thread!

Patchwork, originally uploaded by jenib320.

Bee Blocks, originally uploaded by jenib320.
I was on a bee-block roll this morning! Whipped out FIVE blocks before noon! I was so proud of myself! They have been hanging over my head and I just wanted to get them done and out of the way! So now bee blocks are all caught up!

Sewing Area, originally uploaded by jenib320.
The fabric mountain living on top of my shelf was at risk of collapsing again so I decided to do some reorganizing. It looks so much cleaner now!

Reorganizing, originally uploaded by jenib320.
In all the cleaning I found another rubbermaid to hold fabric! My Erin McMorris fabrics fill up almost an entire container! Have you seen her new line, Summersault? It's cute! I definitely like the raindrop prints!

Thrifting, originally uploaded by jenib320.
I stopped into my local salvation army this week on my way to do some grocery shopping and was surprised to find a few sheets! I'm not sure if these are even vintage, but who cares! If they're cute, I'll take them! :)

Naan!, originally uploaded by jenib320.
Ever since I made Chicken Korma last month, I've been wanting to try to make my own Naan. The store-bought is good, but too expensive! I finally took the plunge today. It was a success! SO yummy! I am so excited! I used this recipe.

Vintage Summer, originally uploaded by jenib320.
Somehow posting got away from me! Graduation was last weekend and then I had to serve jury duty all last week. Between that and Blogger going on the fritz, it just didn't happen! That and the shop has been crazy! Thank you so much! :)

I dressed the futon last week for summer! My newly finished Dream On quilt is perfect to go with my vintage sheet pillows!

!!!!!!, originally uploaded by jenib320.
I finally took the plunge and sewed with knits, making myself my first top! I used the Kyoko Misses pattern by Patty Young (Modkid). It was fantastic! I want to make a million of them!

Mini Quilt, originally uploaded by jenib320.
Since I graduated on Sunday, we decided to celebrate Mother's Day this weekend. I made this mini quilt for my Mom!

Cathrineholm!!, originally uploaded by jenib320.
My parents gave me this unused-in-the-box vintage Cathrineholm Fondue set for graduation! I have been pining after it for years. It has been at a local antique mall forever! :)

BIG Shop Update!

Vintage Sheets Available, originally uploaded by jenib320.
I'm excited to finally be updating and working on the shop again! It has been a while since I've been able to update, but I've still be thrifting so there are lots of new sheets! I'll be adding in some pillowcases later today as well!

Vintage Sheet Wreath Kits, originally uploaded by jenib320.
After such a great response to the Vintage Wrapped Wreath Kits, I knew that I needed to make more! For my new readers (Hi!), these kits are made to accompany my tutorial for a Vintage Wrapped Wreath. Since I'm limited by the number of hems I have, I instead cut 2"x46" strips that can then be ironed in half to use just the same as the hems. This also allows for a more controlled palette! I had a lot of fun choosing sheets for these kits and each kit has a rainbow of colors!

Rainbow, originally uploaded by jenib320.
This is the delicious stack that was cut up late into the night to make the kits! I think these prints will make some beautiful wreaths!

Vintage Sheet Wreath Kits, originally uploaded by jenib320.
Each kit has 12 2"x46" strips! Another advantage to using the strips instead of the hems is I can ship them out easier/cheaper! They're not nearly as bulky or heavy as the hems. You also have the option of further cutting your 2" strips in half, if you'd like the raw edges to show and get two wreaths out of one kit! Thankfully I cut enough fabric for plenty of kits, but once they're gone it will probably be a month or two before I make any more, my hands are all blistered from the cutting! ;) I'm listing them 2 at a time, so if you don't see any listed, check back in a bit and I should have them relisted!

In addition to Wreath Kits, I made up a whole bunch of Rainbow Scrap Packs! A great way to get your vintage sheet collection started and perfect for fun patchwork projects!

Hope you all have a wonderful, springy day! Thanks for visiting and checking out the shop too! :)

What other types of kits/precuts/bundles would you be interested in seeing in the shop?
