Cosmetic Pouch by jenib320

Thank you, as always, for all of your kind comments, they always have a way of brightening my day! I'm glad so many of you enjoyed my pattern review on Tuesday! I hope you'll all share your finished bags if you choose to make one! :)

Speaking of bags, have you been following along with the other posts for Travel Handmade? Today's category was Cosmetic Bags! I already have a make-up roll up (which Erin reviewed!), but did not have a toiletry style bag! Jana made an awesome bag using Skip to My Lou's Boxy Cosmetic Bag Tutorial, and I knew I had to make one too! I used two prints from Erin McMorris's Weekends, Saturday in butter for the exterior and laminate Saturday in pink for the interior. I haven't sewn much with laminate, but it actually went really smoothly! I used hair clips instead of pins for securing, since pins leave holes in the laminate. Like Jana, I added a handle, mine was 10". I also added fusible fleece to the exterior to give it a little extra body.

I love that the interior can be wiped down, thanks to the laminate. You have exposed seams on the inside, so I zig zag stitched them to finish them off. The tutorial was great and easy to follow. I love my new bag! I'll definitely be making a few of these bags as gifts this year! :)

A little sneak peak of a tutorial coming this Sunday for you all using a vintage pillowcase!

Happy Mail by jenib320

Happy fabric mail arrived today! Boy do I love stacking it up all nicely! I think that's the best part! And no, I did not need more Folksy Flannels, as I already have an entire quilt made of it. But what am I supposed to do when I find my favorite print on crazy sale at Fabric.com!?

Sheets by jenib320

The shop has never been more full of vintage sheet goodness! There are a whopping 90 items listed! I've added loads of sheets and pillowcases this week! And next week I'll be (hopefully!) adding charm packs and a few new kits! :)

I seem to have forgotten about my vow to slow down on buying vintage enamelware. When I see the turquoise I can't help myself! The frying pan was a little $$, but the coffee pot was an absolute steal, so I think it evens itself out nicely :)

George by jenib320

George bun has been slowly destroying his little basket. About once a week he starts biting and tearing at it like crazy. It's so funny to see him working on it. He's just too cute!

Today I love the..
Smell of: Clean kitchen
Sound of: Harry Potter 5 audiobook
Taste of: Cheesy Potatoes
Sight of: Neat(er) sewing room ;)
Feel of: Warm afternoon sun

Good Things about Today:
- Finished up two cute bags!
- Continuing to clean up the sewing room!
- Free Swatch Day at Spoonflower!
- Happy fabric mail!
