Horizon 7700 by jenib320

:D <-- That's been my face for the last 24 hours! After taking my machine in last week for service, it became clear that the back-up machine situation needed to change. It was time for an upgrade! My workhorse Janome 4800 will remain as my reliable back-up and travel machine, and this beauty will take over as main! I just finished free motion quilting a large throw quilt, and it was dreamy! I'll be sure to give a full review after we've gotten to know each other better!

New Purse! by jenib320

I am just so happy to be sewing again! I had all the pieces ready and cut out for another 241 Tote, so I sewed it up this weekend! I didn't have quite enough of the typewriter fabric (from Ruby Star Rising by Melody Miller) for both sides, so I used a few scraps from another print from the line to fill in!

Here is the other side! I love this pattern, the purse is such a great size, and it comes together so quickly! I had everything prepped the day before, so the sewing only took a few hours! I even used a little Mendocino for the inside pocket! I love it!  The pattern is the 241 Tote by Anna Graham, you can find it here!

Fabrics used: Ruby Star Rising by Melody Miller, Authentic by Sweetwater, Pure Elements by Art Gallery, So Sophie by Riley Blake, Mendocino by Heather Ross.

I got a chance to sew up my pajama pants too! I used the pattern from Weekend Sewing by Heather Ross! These were also quick, and they fit great! Fabric is from Kona Modern Quilts by Cynthia Frenette, courtesy of Robert Kaufman. It will be out in June! Now I want to make a pair from voile! :)

I finished up my Patchwork Prism quilt today! I'll be sharing all about it tomorrow!

I've been trying to rein in my fabric buying a bit, but I could not resist a bit of Summerville by Lucie Summers! No plans for these yet, but I never need a reason to buy text fabrics! I bought mine from The Intrepid Thread!

You can also find it at Pink Castle Fabrics, Poppy Seed Fabrics, and Fresh Squeezed Fabrics!

  22. Congratulations on your new machine!
About the fabric buying: There is something that many of us scrapbookers do each year called "No Spend" or something similar. Basically, for a period of time or a number of projects, we challenge ourselves to use only what we already have in our stash, barring the need for more adhesive and replacement trimmer blades. I am currently a subscriber to a kit club, so my 100 Layouts From Stash are counted separately, and I get a double point if it's made from my scrap bin. Perhaps this sort of challenge might be fun for you?

  25. I'm curious to know what you think of the new Keane. I only heard one single, and I didn't like it as much as their first album. Just curious!

  27. Hi! Are you still loving your Horizon after a few months of use? Anything you don't like about it? Is it as good for bags/clothes as it is for quilting? I am seriously thinking of begging and pleading with my hubby and budget to purchase this machine since mine died over a month ago :( It is a HUGE investment for me so any information you can offer, espec. anything you don't like about it or problems you've had, would be appreciated Jen! Excited to see you at Sewing Summit - super happy I got into your class!!
