Happy Tuesday! I hope it's starting to look more like Spring wherever you are! It's finally starting to warm up here.  We have had a few days of perfectly clear blue skies and sunshine.  It's amazing how different everything looks when the sun is shining!

Vintage Sheets by Jeni Baker

The beautiful weather had me pulling out my vintage sheet collection today.  I haven't made a vintage sheet quilt since last year's patchwork prism quilt, and I really can't wait to make another.  It's going to have to wait a bit longer, but this summer for sure.  Just need to decide on the perfect pattern!

I spent a little time sewing a just for fun project with Amanda and Jacey last week.  I made a log cabin pincushion and they made a sewing organizer, both projects from Liberty Love by Alexia Abegg. I need to get a proper photo of my finished cushion!

The last two Fat Quarter Gang Tutorials have not only featured Color Me Retro, but my name as well! Sweet Shannon Cook of Luvinthemommyhood shared the Jeni Reversible Apron Tutorial last week! I can't wait to stitch one up to match my kitchen!

This week, Katy Jones of I'm A Ginger Monkey shared the Jeni Gym Bag Tutorial! I love the giant grommets, I can definitely think of lots uses for this bag!

Thanks so much ladies! :)

I loved seeing all the beautiful blocks that everyone has stitched up using my Aurifil Designer Block of the Month Pattern, The Boxer.  Click the image to see links to each block! Don't forget to keep adding your blocks to the Flickr Group each month! Katy Jones is the April designer, her block is really lovely, make sure to check it out!

  2. Hi,Jenny.. can we use the vintage sheet for a quilt block too, I worry that the fabrics are so thin for quilt? Please give me advice, * I got several vintage sheet from thrift store couple days ago too..

    1. Definitely! I've used them for several quilts and they hold up great. I share my tips for caring for and sewing with vintage sheets in this post: http://www.incolororder.com/2011/08/all-about-vintage-sheets.html

  3. Congrats on the tutorials featuring your name! Can't wait to see the finished pincushion. Love the logs!

  4. Ooo, Mad Men. Prepping for next Sunday, I presume? Can't wait!

  5. We had two beautiful spring days ~ Saturday and Sunday. So many people out and about loving the sunshine (I'm in Portland, OR where it rains lots).

  7. Oh your pictures look like spring! We got snow last night. :(

  8. Do you follow Peter Lappin (Male Pattern Boldness)? He made a great jacket and pants from vintage sheets that look like the ones in the picture above.

    1. Just checked it out, so awesome!! Thanks for sharing!

  9. Well your post is lovely and sunny and spring like :) the weather in Ireland is cold but beautifully sunny and everywhere looks beautiful

  10. I'd love to make a pincushion like your one, two. But unfortunately I don't know where to get some small pieces of Liberty of London. And I don't like to buy many yards. Where did you get your pieces?
