City Gym Shorts
Happy Tuesday! I have a few more finished projects to share today, this time they're garments! These have been finished for a while, but I kept putting off posting them because of the photos. I took photos of these back in October, then promptly deleted them without transferring them to my computer. Doh! When I finally re-shot them, I didn't really like the photos, but I don't want to take them a third time. Sometimes we must admit defeat, right? Oh well, at least the actual projects are cute!

Dreamin' Vintage City Gym Shorts
Dreamin' Vintage City Gym Shorts
First up, we have some pajama shorts! I was so excited to try out the City Gym Shorts Tutorial from The Purl Bee last Fall. They're so cute, and I love sleeping in shorts. These take almost no fabric, which makes them even better! I used two prints from Dreamin' Vintage for these, including my favorite meadow print. They're super comfy, and I wear them a lot! I made the second size up and they did turn out a bit big.

Before making my second pair of City Gym Shorts, I adjusted the pattern a bit. I used my favorite pajama shorts from Target as a guide. They're a little shorter, but mostly they are a little less wide. These ones I made out of Geometric Bliss voiles, which are so buttery. Perfect for pajamas! I want to do another pair and swap the prints.

Geometric Bliss Wiksten Tank
Geometric Bliss Wiksten Tank
Another simple project with the Geometric Bliss voile, a Wiksten Tank. I get a lot of wear out of these tanks in the summer and knew this would be a great color to mix into the rotation. The voile makes them such a nice weight for layering, they're so soft and comfortable. I've made a lot of these tanks, you can see them here.

I used 50wt Aurifil thread for all of these projects. I finished my seams with my Juki serger, and put the projects together with my Janome 1600P.

Open Wide Zipper Pouches

Geometric Bliss Open Wide Pouches
Happy Wednesday! I am a bit behind on sharing projects here, so over the next few weeks I'm going to try to get caught up on that. Today I have a few open wide zipper pouches to show you. I made these all last month, and in my defense one was a gift, so I had to wait until it was received!

I love making these pouches, it's such a great tutorial (by Anna), and they turn out so cute. I was in the mood for a few new knitting project bags and I knew my friend Jacey could get use from one for knitting too!

Geometric Bliss Open Wide Pouch Geometric Bliss Open Wide Pouch
I made my pair of pouches using some prints from Geometric Bliss. I knew I wanted to use the mobius stripe in a different way, and this pouch was the perfect size for it. The little bud print was perfect for the inside, and I used the same print for the end tab as an accent.

Geometric Bliss Open Wide Pouch Geometric Bliss Open Wide Pouch
For the second pouch I used the coral poppy print, which is one of my favorites from the collection. This pouch is a bit more bold, with the tessellate print for the lining and tab.

Meadow Open Wide Pouch Meadow Open Wide Pouch
For Jacey's pouch I knew I wanted to use this coral print from Meadow by Leah Duncan. I paired it with some linen scraps to do a contrast bottom. From there I pulled the blue lining and yellow zipper from the colors in the print.

Geometric Bliss Open Wide Pouches
All of these pouches are the medium size. I used Pellon SF-101 to interface them, and the zippers are from Zipit.

I always enjoy making these pouches, they come together super quick and function great. I'm sure there are more in my future!

Nordika Polar Vortex Quilt Tutorial
Happy New Year! Before we get too far into 2015, I wanted to at least do a quick reflection on last year. 2014 was full of opportunities, lots of hard work, and some fun. That's not to say it didn't have it's ups and downs.

First and foremost, we survived the polar vortex that hit in January and February. It even inspired a quilt tutorial!

Triangularity Quilt Pattern
I also released seven patterns this year! Working on patterns was my big focus this year, and I am glad that I was able to get so many in-progress patterns finished and out into the world.

Dreamin' Vintage by Jeni Baker Geometric Bliss by Jeni Baker
I released two fabric collections this year, Dreamin' Vintage and Geometric Bliss! Every time a collection is released it becomes my new favorite. Keep your eyes peeled for a super duper giveaway coming soon!

Nordika Sew Together Bag
I had a hard time choosing my favorite project from 2014, but I think I have to choose this Sew Together Bag made in Nordika. I use it all the time, and it was fun to make!

Michael and I
Lebron James came back to the Cleveland Cavaliers, which was pretty darn awesome for this Cavs fan! We were even able to attend some games!

Daybreak
I kept up my knitting this year, not as much as I would have liked, but that's okay. I tried to challenge myself, and I am ready to start my first sweater this year.

George on yarn!
George also sat on this giant ball of yarn. So ridiculous of him!

Chalet Sewing Weekend
I had the opportunity to travel quite a bit this year, including just an hour away to New Glarus for another summer sewing retreat!

Happy Halloween! I give you one bunny bumble bee!#georgebunny #bunstagram
George was a bee for Halloween! The cutest bumble bun ever.

The end of 2014 was quite busy! We traveled home to Ohio to spend Christmas with my family. After the holiday we met some of Michael's family in the Caribbean for a week-long cruise. It was such a nice break for us.

Last but most certainly not least, Michael took me to the Cleveland Zoo before Christmas and proposed! Of course I said yes! It's a thrill to call him my fiancé and wear my great-grandmother's ring :)

Here's to a wonderful and exciting 2015!
