I might look at that tutorial and give it a try! what a great xmas tradition making those starts every year! you said your grandmother is German? I am of German ancestry too, my German xmas tradition is hanging a pickle ornament in my tree every year...I also make what is called "christollen" german xmas bread with cinnamon, sugar, candied red and green cherries, citron, and lemon peel, very good!
