Weekend

Block 12 by jenib320

It was a busy weekend! Managed to sew up two more Mendocino mermaid blocks last night! That makes 13, so I'm over half-way done! I'm excited but also a little sad, I really love working on these! :)

This is probably one of my favorites. I just love the colors in this one!

The brown ones are not quite as easy as the others. It's such a weird color of brown!

Because of all the dust created by ripping sheets, it was essential that I finally have a sewing machine cover. I used this tutorial that I found on Pinterest and some of Erin McMorris's newest line, Summersault. I'm happy with how it turned out, but I think I was a little too generous in my measurements, it's pretty roomy. Oh well, it's cute and does it's job! :)

A great day of thrifting this morning! I'm happy to say this haul is from only 3 stores!

I had forgotten that I finished this set up without snapping a photo! The rest of the pieces were all packed up for the move when I finally found the 502. LOVE this set so much!

Cheesy Garlic Pizza by jenib320

We've already made this recipe twice in just a few days. It is SO good. The best pizza dough recipe I've tried and this tastes exactly like the cheesy bread our favorite pizza place made. Now that we've moved away, I thought we'd be without it, but this is just as good if not better!

George by jenib320

George has been a little under the weather the last day or so. I mentioned his crazy shedding on Friday, it had gotten even crazier! We kept brushing him, but he ingested a little too much fur and since bunnies can't take care of hair-balls like cats, he was a tad uncomfortable with tummy and potty problems. So we took him to the vet yesterday. I'm happy to say he is doing much better now! He hates getting his medicine, but he is acting just like his old self now, which is such a relief! :)

Today I love the..
Smell of: Warm butter
Sound of: Harry Potter 6 audiobook
Taste of: Cheesy garlic pizza
Sight of: Sunny afternoon
Feel of: George

Good Things about Today:
- Great thrift run this morning!
- George is doing great today!
- Productive morning and afternoon!
- Beautiful weather!

  1. Love your sewing machine cover... I need to make one for mine. You'd think as much as I've been using it, there wouldn't be any dust... HA!

I'm glad George is feeling better... poor dear!

  2. All the Mendocino browns are beyond bizarre. I want to do a really simple quilt with three fabrics - one of the brown mendocino prints (not that one, the one with the orangey-red seahorses), with solid orange and solid brown, well... I must have bought and tried 6 or 8 different browns and not one worked particularly well.

  5. Love your Mendocino blocks! I have some fabric from that line & I'm terrified to cut into it! I've never spent that much money on fabric before, lol!

  6. Aww poor George!
Try giving him crushed pineapple. The acid in the pineapple breaks down fur balls since bunnies' stomach doesn't produce the right acid for it. And my rabbit just LOVED pineapple so it's like a treat for them as well!

  8. You make it look "sew easy" with all your quilts and sewing projects...I am a bit sad because I have not yet learned anything as I am without a teacher...hoping to find some online tutorials for true beginners...I can plug my brand new machine into the wall outlet..that is all :(

  17. Hey Jeni, your mendocino blocks are so pretty, it hurts! I am absolutely in love with the mendocino prints, but sadly don't own any, as I was wayyy too late in discovering them, when you couldn't buy it anywhere anymore...
I am looking forward to the finished quilt, I know it will be fabulous!

  19. Love the sewing machine cover! That looks like a simple and satisfying project.

And I'm so glad to hear George is doing better! Statis issues can be so stressful (for me and my bunny, anyways), but it's great that he's recovery with the help of meds. Yay vets and meds!
