I use a tool to close them (a Kwik Klip), and I find it faster to do it this way since I'm not picking up and putting down the tool constantly! :)Jeni Bakerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14766510979539197035noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2868583750761494400.post-10947052856835059532016-08-30T15:36:01.439-04:002016-08-30T15:36:01.439-04:00Hi Jeni,

I have seen this before from other quilters and can't figure it out. Is this so you can easily move them to adjust if necessary? Do you close them all at one time right before you begin quilting the layers together? Thank you for your reply :) redheidihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17979816826054305244noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2868583750761494400.post-82758406453244749112016-08-12T08:49:50.945-04:002016-08-12T08:49:50.945-04:00It's funny, I love doing that math, the tracki...It's funny, I love doing that math, the tracking has been so satisfying! :)Jeni Bakerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14766510979539197035noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2868583750761494400.post-45015685334432427232016-08-12T08:18:24.268-04:002016-08-12T08:18:24.268-04:00George is so cute. For quilts that use smaller pieces, I'll use the number squares and rectangles to calculate how many square inches of fabric it took, then divide by the number of square inches in a yard. There is some estimation/rounding, but it's pretty accurate.Jeni Bakerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14766510979539197035noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2868583750761494400.post-38065011874102050602016-08-10T01:16:18.482-04:002016-08-10T01:16:18.482-04:00Re your fabric tally--How do you calculate how muc...Re your fabric tally--How do you calculate how much fabric you have used in a quilt? When using bits and pieces I don't see how this can be done. Do you just make an estimate based on the quilt size.
