I was getting frustrated this afternoon while quilting my Castle Peeps quilt. The horizontal lines were causing puckers. I decided to step away and take a break. I got online and looked through my inbox. I found an email with the address for sending packages for the IBOL effort. I hadn't planned on putting my package together until tomorrow but decided I might as well go a head and get started.
I went through my stash and pulled out fabrics, buttons, trims, and needles, slowly filling up the box. By the time I was finished I felt so much better. Instead of being frustrated about my lack of perfect quilting skills, I should simply be thankful that I have a sewing machine and a quilt filled with beautiful fabrics to quilt!
If you can, please consider creating your own package. If you're interested, here is info on what to send and how to package it.
You can read more about the effort here. Sew, Mama, Sew has bundles that you can purchase if you can't build your own package. :)

Yesterday I received an amazing package from Kerri of Sew Deerly Loved for the Urban Home Goods Swap! I was super excited that these goodies landed in my mailbox! I had been really hoping they were for me! I was completely spoiled, everything is beautiful!
This beautiful pillow already has a form and looks great on my couch! She used the beautiful (yet-to-be-released!) Dream On line by Moda. I am so in love with this line already and it looks awesome on this pillow! It's beautifully pieced and quilted!
Check out this sweet wall-hanging! I love to decorate with embroidery hoops and this piece is so cute! I never tire of patchwork :)
As you all know, I am a little bit obsessed with garlands/bunting. I am constantly making new ones because it's such a great way to change up decorations! This bunting is made from some seriously awesome vintage sheets! She used a different print on each side, so it's really double-sided. Isn't that clever? It's already found a home over my TV!
As if all those goodies weren't already enough, she included these sweet fabrics! They are so cool! I think these may become a cool patchwork apron! And yum to the leftovers from a Dream On layercake! :D
Thank you so much Kerri! You seriously went above and beyond! Everything you made is beautiful and thoughtful! This was such a fun swap! Can't wait for the next round! By the way, incase you don't know Kerri, you should go check out her sweet blog and shop. She stocks it with a handpicked selection of super cute fabrics and notions! :)
In addition to Kerri's package, I received this lovely package from Megan for a personal swap! I love her style and these goodies are just too cute! Thanks Megan!
Today I love the..
Smell of: Fresh air
Sound of: Keane
Taste of: Chocolate chip cookies
Sight of: Vintage Sheets
Feel of: George :)
Good Things about Today:
- Managed to get *most* of what I wanted to get done, done.
- Sewed a tiny bit!
- Slept under a quilt last night! :)
