So much happened in 2012, it's hard to know where to begin! George recommends we simply start by looking at the crafty side of this past year. I generally do whatever he says, since he does run things around here! :)
1. Half-Square Triangle Block of the Month Quilt, 2. Scrappy Mermaid Quilt, 3. Framed Color Me Retro Quilt, 4. Color Hex Quilt, 5. Side Braid Quilt Pattern - Mini Braid, 6. Bloom Quilt, 7. Vintage Sheet Patchwork Prism Quilt, 8. Mendocino Dreams Quilt, 9. Vintage Nine-Patch Quilt
Many, many quilts were made in 2012. These are just a few of my favorites. I had a thing for chartreuse this year! I also released five quilt patterns, and we completed a block of the month quilt along!
1. Snack Drawstring Bag, 2. Patchwork Duffle Bag, 3. Poinsettia Lined Drawstring Bag, 4. Log Cabin Pouch, 5. Laminated Cotton Tote, 6. Drawstring Bag + Pockets, 7. New Purse!, 8. Hexie Pouch, 9. Go Anywhere Bag
My love of bags has not budged. I made lots of drawstring bags and many bags from Anna's great patterns. I also splurged on Marimekko oilcloth for a super simple tote bag, which was probably my favorite bag from this year!
1. Holiday Wrapped Wreath Tutorial, 2. Color Me Retro Square Flower Pillow, 3. Enchanted Bow Skirt, 4. Zakka Sewing Kit, 5. Another Wiksten Top, 6. Pincushion, 7. Elephant Softie, 8. Pillow Talk Swap 7 - Finished, 9. New Top
I really expanded my handmade wardrobe this year, I made over 20 garments! I don't wear all of them, but the Wiksten tanks and tovas have been in heavy rotation! Also, you can never have too many pincushions.
2012 had a bumpy start, but it really turned out to be an awesome year. In the beginning I was still trying to adjust to living in Wisconsin, feeling lonely and unsure of what direction I wanted to go. Slowly, the year started to shape up. I made friends, I traveled, I sewed, I quilted, I taught, I designed a fabric collection (what?!) for the fantastic folks at Art Gallery Fabrics, watched a lot of TV with Michael and let's be honest, did a lot of thrifting.
Here's to a happy and healthy 2013!
