Hope you all had a great weekend! Ours was pretty uneventful which was welcome after last week's busy-ness! We got another couple inches of snow today so I stuck pretty close to home! I did venture out to The Sewcial Lounge to baste a new quilt though! :)
I have been meaning to sew myself a new coupon zippy pouch for a long time! My old one had seen waaaay better days (it was cute when it was new!). I thought this Heather Ross FFA 3 print would go well with my new purse and be sturdy. I used Peltex so it's pretty stiff! It was a fun little afternoon project.
I was able to add a few more paper-like fabrics to my stash on Friday so today I thought I'd pull them all together. Umm, I think we can classify this collection as an obsession! I clearly cannot resist text/map/paper fabrics! :)
Moving along on my Honey Cowl! I love the way the stitch looks! If only I could knit at lighting speed!
I picked up my states embroidery last night and stitched a few more! I'm getting close! I used this coloring book page to draw it out.
I signed up for the Dessert of the Month club by The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery! This little truffle is January! I'm using sparkly silver Aida for mine, I bought it at Joanns!
George :)
Today I love the..
Smell of: Twisted Peppermint hand wash
Sound of: Harry Potter 1 audiobook
Taste of: Reese's
Sight of: Pretty snow
Feel of: Wool socks
Good Things about Today:
- Productive!
- Apartment is clean!
- Basted a quilt I'm really excited about!
- George!
I don't think that any quilter doesn't collect at least one theme grouping of fabrics. For me I buy a lot of Asian prints and I have a hard time resisting Halloween ones too, especially ones that are a little bit different. You sure have a lot of different projects going on at the same time.
ReplyDeleteGeorge is definitely a good thing! xxoo Patty
ReplyDeleteColoring books are great places to get embroidery ideas aren't they...I've used them many times...also childrens books! Like you I have 100 different projects going....and I keep starting more!!! I just can't stop! I am going to have to live to at least 200! Hi George....he is so CUTE!!!! I love his little basket...give him a little pat...from me!
ReplyDeletei've been (ahem) hoarding text fabrics for quite a while. seems like a nice time to break them out and use them.
ReplyDeleteLove your little coupon pouch. So cute. I love a text, map, paper fabric too. I need to get more. I finally finished my first honey cowl tonight. It took me 12 days of working very slowly. I can say I knit something now!
ReplyDeletesuch fun projects!! your zippy pouch is adorable. I love all text, map, grid, paper fabrics too. you have a good little collection!
ReplyDeleteBy comparison with sewing, knitting is very slow but we need to remember that we are making the fabric as well as the item when we knit! Imagine how long a quilt would take if we have to weave and print all the fabrics first!
ReplyDeleteLove your map embroidery, great idea to use a colouring book too. Your truffle cross stitch is just perfect for the month when nearly everyone's resolution is to cut back on the cakes - guilt free truffles what could be better?
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, when you said paper-like fabrics I thought you were talking about a new substrate trend :))
ReplyDeleteLove your honey cowl, that yarn looks like my kind of yummmy!
Looks like you have some fun projects! The zippy pouch is so cute!
ReplyDeleteHave you read the Harry Potter series before?
ReplyDeleteYour text collection puts mine to shame! Love them, Jeni! And your new zippy pouch is adorable. I joined the dessert of the month club, too, but haven't stitched mine up yet! Hi, George!
ReplyDeleteoh, you've been busy ~ love the zip bag and of course George.
ReplyDeleteI've got whole lines of fabric (well, at least a few) just waiting to be made into something.
I love your states embroidery!
ReplyDeleteI think I might just do one with my home state.
I'm seriously drooling over your text collection. I have quite a few now too but still wanting more. My fabric mania is totally out of control this month :) so proud of you for sticking with the knitting, you're going to love your honey cowl!
