Zippy by jenib320

Hope you all had a great weekend! Ours was pretty uneventful which was welcome after last week's busy-ness!  We got another couple inches of snow today so I stuck pretty close to home! I did venture out to The Sewcial Lounge to baste a new quilt though! :)

I have been meaning to sew myself a new coupon zippy pouch for a long time! My old one had seen waaaay better days (it was cute when it was new!). I thought this Heather Ross FFA 3 print would go well with my new purse and be sturdy. I used Peltex so it's pretty stiff! It was a fun little afternoon project.

I was able to add a few more paper-like fabrics to my stash on Friday so today I thought I'd pull them all together. Umm, I think we can classify this collection as an obsession! I clearly cannot resist text/map/paper fabrics! :)

Moving along on my Honey Cowl! I love the way the stitch looks! If only I could knit at lighting speed!

I picked up my states embroidery last night and stitched a few more! I'm getting close! I used this coloring book page to draw it out.

  1. I don't think that any quilter doesn't collect at least one theme grouping of fabrics. For me I buy a lot of Asian prints and I have a hard time resisting Halloween ones too, especially ones that are a little bit different. You sure have a lot of different projects going on at the same time.

  5. Love your little coupon pouch. So cute. I love a text, map, paper fabric too. I need to get more. I finally finished my first honey cowl tonight. It took me 12 days of working very slowly. I can say I knit something now!

  7. By comparison with sewing, knitting is very slow but we need to remember that we are making the fabric as well as the item when we knit! Imagine how long a quilt would take if we have to weave and print all the fabrics first!

  8. Love your map embroidery, great idea to use a colouring book too. Your truffle cross stitch is just perfect for the month when nearly everyone's resolution is to cut back on the cakes - guilt free truffles what could be better?
