I've been back from Quilt Market for nearly a week, so I thought it was finally time to start talking about it! This is a very brief recap, and I'll share nice photos of my booth and more on the projects and fabric in other posts. For now, a simple telling of my trip!
I flew in a day early this year, so I could spend some time with my friend
Jacey! It was really great to be able to relax for a bit after I landed before getting into the throes of booth set up and the show itself.
Jacey and her husband Elliot very graciously had me stay the first night, and I had a great time! I ate real tex mex, and met their fabulous kitties, Bella (testing a quilt for me, above) and Olias!
Jacey was my lifesaver! She helped me out so much, from Ikea and Target runs, making sure I always had treats to eat and lots of moral support. Thank you
Jacey, I couldn't have done it without you! She was totally understanding when we needed to make an emergency stop at Target to check out the new Orla Kiely stuff!
PS - It's awesome, obviously! I may have bought four pieces, oops. Sorry, not sorry!
Thursday and Friday were dedicated to setting up the booth! I took a chance and went with lime green walls! They're actually fabric!
Pure Elements Lemonade to be exact. The very best pure element color in my personal opinion. Seriously, it's awesome. I managed to fit everything for the booth in two suitcases and a carry-on again, with little weight and room to spare!
I'm really happy with how the booth came together. Between the twenty
prints in Dreamin' Vintage, I had about 8 yards of fabric, so it was a
real challenge to stretch them into enough projects to fill the booth. It was great to share this collection, because it's truly my dream collection. I can't wait to tell you all about it. Very soon, I swear!
Jacey and I finally managed to get a photo together!
On Monday we managed to see a little bit of the show, and we made a bee-line for the
Soak booth! They debuted two new products at Quilt Market:
designer nail polish sets, and
Flatter smoothing spray! They had a lovely manicurist,
Nail Mogul, so we all had our nails done! It was wonderful to feel pampered after long days on our feet. I picked up another bottle of
Soakwash (I use it for all my hand knits, it's awesome!), and a bottle of
Flatter to try out! Will report back once I use it, it smells amazing!
On Monday I also wore my
Color Me Retro Washi Tunic, which I now realize I never modeled for the blog! I blended right into the blue section in the colorful
Art Gallery Fabrics booth! I used the Florette print in Sapphire from
Color Me Retro, and
Rae Hoekstra's
Washi Dress Pattern.

Before I knew it, the show was over and it was time to pack up!
Jacey and I tore down the booth as quick as we could and loaded up her car! It's amazing just how much you can stuff into a suitcase. I do wonder what the TSA agents were thinking about my bag though, haha!
Quilt Market was an adventure as usual, and I didn't freak out quite as badly this time around. I suppose that comes with experience, but I also made sure to take care of myself leading up to it and during the show. I think all but one night we were in bed before 10pm! We ate very well too, there was lots of good food (Chili Con Queso!) and good company. Until next time, Houston!
