Happy Tuesday! I wanted to be able to provide for you all (and let's be honest, for me too) a one stop location for all things Color Me Retro. It's due to hit stores very soon, so I wanted to make sure and get things in order before then! The "Fabric" tab up above will have information about my fabrics, links to projects, posts, videos and photos about it, and also, a list of shops that will be carrying them. As a part of those resources I wanted to list the Art Gallery blenders, Aurifil thread colors, and DMC Embroidery Floss that match the collection. So, without further ado, let's dive in!
The first of Color Me Retro's three prints is Florette, available in three colors: Ruby, Crystal, and Sapphire.
The next print is Dulcette, available in three colors: Azalea, Lobelia, and Bluestar.
Finally, the last print, Kitchenette, is available in four colors: Raspberry, Apple, Honeydew, and Blueberry.
The following Art Gallery Pure Element Solids match: 405 Cherry Lipgloss, 406 Burnt Orange, 409 Light Citron, 416 Lemonade, 423 Appletini, 414 Dark Citron, 403 Fresh Water, 424 Mirage Blue, 415 Parisian Blue.

So much happened in 2012, it's hard to know where to begin! George recommends we simply start by looking at the crafty side of this past year. I generally do whatever he says, since he does run things around here! :)
1. Half-Square Triangle Block of the Month Quilt, 2. Scrappy Mermaid Quilt, 3. Framed Color Me Retro Quilt, 4. Color Hex Quilt, 5. Side Braid Quilt Pattern - Mini Braid, 6. Bloom Quilt, 7. Vintage Sheet Patchwork Prism Quilt, 8. Mendocino Dreams Quilt, 9. Vintage Nine-Patch Quilt
Many, many quilts were made in 2012. These are just a few of my favorites. I had a thing for chartreuse this year! I also released five quilt patterns, and we completed a block of the month quilt along!
1. Snack Drawstring Bag, 2. Patchwork Duffle Bag, 3. Poinsettia Lined Drawstring Bag, 4. Log Cabin Pouch, 5. Laminated Cotton Tote, 6. Drawstring Bag + Pockets, 7. New Purse!, 8. Hexie Pouch, 9. Go Anywhere Bag
My love of bags has not budged. I made lots of drawstring bags and many bags from Anna's great patterns. I also splurged on Marimekko oilcloth for a super simple tote bag, which was probably my favorite bag from this year!
1. Holiday Wrapped Wreath Tutorial, 2. Color Me Retro Square Flower Pillow, 3. Enchanted Bow Skirt, 4. Zakka Sewing Kit, 5. Another Wiksten Top, 6. Pincushion, 7. Elephant Softie, 8. Pillow Talk Swap 7 - Finished, 9. New Top
I really expanded my handmade wardrobe this year, I made over 20 garments! I don't wear all of them, but the Wiksten tanks and tovas have been in heavy rotation! Also, you can never have too many pincushions.
2012 had a bumpy start, but it really turned out to be an awesome year. In the beginning I was still trying to adjust to living in Wisconsin, feeling lonely and unsure of what direction I wanted to go. Slowly, the year started to shape up. I made friends, I traveled, I sewed, I quilted, I taught, I designed a fabric collection (what?!) for the fantastic folks at Art Gallery Fabrics, watched a lot of TV with Michael and let's be honest, did a lot of thrifting.
Here's to a happy and healthy 2013!

Happy New Year! Hope 2012 ended on a good note for everyone! I didn't realize we'd be without internet in Virginia, hence the lack of posts this week! I'm sure everyone was busy celebrating and gearing up for the new year, right? :)
Before I wrap up last year's happenings and talk a bit about 2013, I want to share a few final projects from last year. I tried again to give some handmade gifts, and I think they were well received! The biggest one was a table runner for my parents new home. They have a giant table and so it's hard to find tablecloths and runners for it. I choose Bari J's Splendor 1920 fabric line to make this simple (but giant) runner. I cut 8"x22" strips of each print (20 total), and stitched them together to create a 152" long runner.
It's backed with a yellow gingham vintage sheet and bound up in a deep navy Pure Element, Nocturnal.
I basted and quilted this runner at Quilt Camp last month, but couldn't share it right away since it's a gift!
I also made my Mom a zipper pouch using Anna's awesome wide open zipper pouch tutorial. We gave her a new carry on suitcase so I made it to match! I used prints from Rhapsodia and blenders from Art Gallery Fabrics.
I made Michael's Mom and Sister each a quilted zipper pouch! I used the quilt as you go method again, so they're pretty sturdy.
Finally, I whipped up a simple, flannel scarf for Michael's Dad. Warm and manly! It's constructed like my Quick Scarf Tutorial, except I used two 1/2 yards of flannel rather than voile, with no trim.
I'll be back soon to share my favorite projects from 2012!
