Sneak Peek!
Sneak Peek!, a photo by Jeni Baker on Flickr.
Hi There! Things have been a bit quiet around here, and I don't have much to show for it (yet!).  It seems like there are so many things all happening at the same time, craziness!  I'm in full on Quilt Market prep mode! I am excited to share a little sneaky peek of my new collection, which I'll be debuting at Market!  I hope to share the whole collection soon!

It's been sewing, sewing, sewing 24/7 over here! I've officially taken over the kitchen island, since it means I can sew in the evenings when Michael is home.  Plus this way I can look over and see George any time I want.  It makes it slightly inconvenient to use the kitchen for cooking (haha), but oh well! It's working for now!

Singer Featherweight by Jeni Baker

I've actually been doing most of my sewing on my featherweight! It is so fantastic for piecing, I'm really preferring it over my other machines for patchwork. I know some of that is it's charm, but I'm okay with it! :)

Deer & Doe by Jeni Baker

As soon as I find a second to do some for fun sewing, I'm going to stitch up this awesome Datura Blouse pattern by Deer and Doe.  The pattern itself is beautiful and very well done, not to mention to shirt looks awesome! Can't wait!

Remember the new UK magazine  Love Quilting & Patchwork I shared about last month? You can now find it at your local Jo-Ann in addition to Barnes & Noble! Yay! It's a good one, I'm so happy to be included in it!

Pink Pyrex Refrigerator Set

I finally finished my pink vintage pyrex refrigerator set.  I've been lusting after this set since I first started collecting.  I managed to snatch the last dish off eBay last week after finding the other pieces at an antique mall a few months ago. It was definitely worth the wait, I love it!

  4. I'm excited to see your new collection! It looks beautiful! I recently inherited my husband's grandmother's featherweight. I want to get it serviced before I sew with it... I need to get on that!

  6. hahah. okay it's freaking me out kind of... I know it's NOT, because i counted the squares on the cutting mat, but for some reason that singer machine LOOKS like it's a picture of a miniature... like a decorative thing... I have no idea what it is with the perspective... but it's awesome. :)

loving your pink pyrex, also. I have a collection of the white with the aqua print on it. My mom went thru my great grandmother's house and got me all the old pyrex and corning. :) I can remember the stories of my grandmother saving the green stamps in the post-depression era to be able to purchase those dishes. It makes me cherish them all the more... they were something that meant a great deal to her, and that have stood the test of time for nearly 75 years! (Wow! I just did the math on that! Those dishes are OLD....)

I love serving my family on the same exact pieces my great grandmother served us Sunday dinners in 30+ years ago... knowing also that my mom and her siblings and my grandfather even was served dinners in those same dishes.

They're all gone now, so it's like having them with me, special guests at each family dinner. <3

  9. Love that triangle quilt ~ I've been wanting to do one for ages, but too many other things to sew first. The pyrex is wonderful ~ makes me think of my Grandma ~ she had a few sets of it.
Ah, George ~ he's so cute!

  12. I love the gray prints in your new collection, and I'm SO CURIOUS about your Featherweight! Do you think you could do a post about it sometime (AFTER Quilt Market)? Like, how does it work, where did you get it, how do you take care of service and maintenance, etc? I have heard so many quilters raving about these machines, and you're right -- it is a GORGEOUS machine. :-)

  13. Oh the little I see of that new collection looks FABULOUS! I just have to say, I don't know what it is about your featherweight picture, but it looks like a miniature, aka not real. Does anybody else think that about that photo, kinda funny.
