I should preface this by saying that I need another pincushion like I need another bag, haha. But, that didn't stop me from making two new ghostie pincushions from yesterday's fabric stack! I was totally inspired by Lindsay's ghostie block, knew I needed to whip something up with these fabrics too! The ghost fabrics are from Matilda by Cosmo Cricket! I also used this yummy sparkly linen from JoAnns! For the first time, I filled my pincushions with crushed walnut shells, aka lizard litter! It has such a nice weight! The lady at the pet shop was highly amused by this. But don't worry, in a nice way :)

Thank you all for your response to my Lined Drawstring Bag Tutorial I posted this weekend! I'm glad to hear you like it! Here are mine so far! I might need to make another, just for fun!

Last week, Lizzy House listed a limited number of fabric scrap boxes from all her fabric lines. It was a total impulse, but I'm so glad I jumped on it, they sold out super quick! The box arrived today and boy oh boy, couldn't be happier! Look at all that goodness! My stash has tons of Lizzy's fabric in it, probably second only to Erin McMorris fabric! :)

I've been a procrastinator, as usual! Just now starting my Kona solids challenge project for the Madison Modern Quilt Guild. Our meeting is next Monday, whoops! I better get to work!

I worked all weekend long restocking the shop with scrap packs, stripe bundles, charm packs, and wrapped wreath kits! :)

I'll be back Thursday with another Sewing Summit recap, this one featuring photos of people (yay!), photos from my class, and some fun bloggy news!

Today I love the..
Smell of: Fall air
Sound of: Harry Potter 5!
Taste of: Fresca
Sight of: Fabric
Feel of: George's soft fur :)

Good Things about Today:
- No line at the post office, woo hoo!
- Ran a lot of errands.
- Fabric mail!
- All the dishes are clean.
- Feeling inspired to sew!

  1. Love your pincushions! :) MAN I wanted one of those Lizzy House boxes but I was too late :( George is the cutest!

  2. No line at the post office is the best! I love your pics, especially those cute pincushions! And I always love how you put George in there :)

  3. What adorable pin cushions. My daughter loves them too.

Yay for the smell of fall air. Love it.

Many ahh, so cute on George. Such a cute rabbit.

Thanks for an amazing tutorial. More things to keep me busy this fall.

  4. The pincushions are adorable! I need to make a trip to JoAnn's to pick up some of that sparkly linen.

  5. I. CAN'T. WAIT. FOR. FRIDAY! :) That's all.

  6. How is that linen to sew with? I saw it and now I am really tempted! The pincushions are darling and I will check out the tutorial. Cute cute cute! George is darling! I had a dwarf bunny named Hershey when I was a girl, seeing him always makes me want to get another ;)

  7. oo,ooo, sparkly linen, sounds fab. And I always wondered where to get walnut shells (besides from my parents yard, ha).

  8. Your pincushions are adorable! I saw those Matilda fabrics online and really liked them, but couldn't think what I would make with them. :}

  9. Super cute. I always use lizard litter for pincushions! It's the best! Perfect weight and nice and firm.

  10. such cute little pincushions. and it is good to see george, as adorable as ever!

  11. Love the pincushion cuteness! I think I need to stock up on a little Lizzy House now that I've seen that scrummy looking pile of yours!

  12. So much goodness in one post! I have always loved your little recaps at the end of your posts saying what you loved or what went good that day. I think it's great to find the good in everyday.

  13. I always use walnut shells in mine. You can also buy them at Farm & Fleet for much cheaper. But you need to buy a larger quantity.

Can't wait to see your Kona project on Monday!

  14. Love that ghosty fabric - too too cute! And sparkly linen - I've got to find some of that! Wish I had been able to get in on those Lizzy House boxes but I was too late (don't think she was shipping them to Canada anyway).

  15. I missed Lizz House boxes, but I am on the waiting list now. Hope I will be able to get one? I love your drawstring bag tutorial. They will be great for Christmas wrapping~

  16. good luck on your kona challenge quilt. i finally got my idea for mine even though ours were (supposedly) due last month. maybe i'll work on it before November?

  17. those ghosties may be the cutest thing, ever!
