Spring Bunting Tutorial - In Color Order

I love bunting and one of the great things about it is it's super easy to make! This is an excellent excuse to make a strand for every occasion! Here are instructions on how to make your own spring bunting!

Sewing Level: Beginner Friendly

Materials:
- 4 turquoise fabrics
- 3 pink fabrics
- 3 yellow fabrics
- 1/4 yd solid fabric

*You'll need a 4"x10" piece of each fabric!

Instructions:
1. Cut 2 4"x5" pieces from each fabric. This will make ten "flags".

2. Take two pieces and with right sides together, sewing along 3 sides, leaving a skinny side open. Repeat for the rest of your ten flags.

3. Clip the corners of your flags, turn and iron. Don't forget to poke your corners to make them crisp!

3. Make bias tape or use pre-made for the string. If you would like to make your own: Fold a length of 44" wide white cotton in half matching up the selvedges. Cut three 2.5" strips. Pieces these strips end to end. Fold your long strip in half length-wise. Iron. Unfold and fold both sides onto the center line created by your first fold. Iron again. Now fold in half length-wise again. Iron.

4. Lay out your finished bias tape on the floor (or on a long table). Arrange your flags, placing them with 3" between each flag. Place your first two flags 1.5" on either side of the center. Continue to lay out a flag every 3". Once they are in the order you'd like, nestle the unfinished end of your flag into the fold of your bias tape. Pin. (To recreate my color scheme, place your blocks turquoise, yellow, pink, repeat)

5. Carefully stitch along the end of your bias tape. You may want to fold over 1/2" on both ends of your bias tape to hide the raw edge.
